Been struggling with this problem for a while, and out of ideas. I am hoping that someone can help point me to some new things to try.
20+ users on W7 have shared,mapped drives to a W2008 file server. For a few of these users, sporadically they try to save Word documents and can't. A TMP file is generated instead. This causes all kinds of issues when several people work on the same file.
Another funny symptom includes (1) save the file, seems OK, (2) close Word - it asks if you want to save the file, (3) click the "save" button (4) Word does not close but is stillfunctional (5) close Word again - it asks if you want to save the file again (6) loop until get tired of it and reboot or kill the Word process.
It is sporadic - sometimes aparticular file works and sometimes not. I cannot find a pattern. It started with one user primarily, but...
