We manage a company that has multiple sites.
We would like to deploy a second domain controller at one of their remote sites due to the spotty internet at the remote site. At least once a week they drop packets.
There is a hardware VPN connection in place that works wonderfully.
I just want to make sure that I have the network settings right...
The current IP ranges are
DC01 - IP 192.168.100.X - Main Site. Main PDC.
DC02 - IP 10.1.1.X - Remote Site. Secondary DC
The secondary domain controller will point to:
DNS1: PRIMARY DOMAIN CONTROLLER on 192.168.100.X
DNS2: SECONDARY DOMAIN CONTROLLER on 127.0.0.1
