A quick Q - Does extending a simple dynamic volume on Windows 2003R2 lose data

Hi all

I have quickly searched but didn't find anything solid for data volume.

Basically I have increased the Hard Disk on VMware for one of our Servers. The disk on Windows 2003 is Dynamic and it is a simple volume, containing SQL logs.

I can see when i go to Disk Management, it gives me the option to extend the volume, but I am not sure if it will format the whole drive, or lose the data? Will it just simply extend the old volume and take the extra 30GB?

A definite answer would be appreciated. I do have backups of course and if there is no answer i can do a quick test install and try it, but if anyone know about this for sure, it would save me time.
