We are having a strange issue with our Domain Controller/DHCP Server. It goes to sleep mode at exactly 6 PM every day Monday-Friday but is fine during the weekend.
We are running WMware Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard 64 bit. This is also our Spiceworks server. We have 3 DCs 2 of them are Physical machines Server 2008 R2 and 1 is WMware.
I found the following link about another person having the exact issue.
I coudn't find Intel VPro Plugin anywhere on Spiceworks or on the DC that's going to sleep.
Further to this strange issue we decided to create a brand new VMware virtual DC to rule out if the issue resides on the virtual server. But we had the exact same problem on the new DC it went to sleep exactly at 6 PM.
We've checked the power settings (Set to high performace), screen saver is turned off, etc.
Then asked ourselves; could Spiceworks service possibly be causing this issue?
so we disabled Spiceworks Server and the DCs are not going to sleep mode now.
My question is why is Spiceworks service causing our DCs to go to sleep?
