OK So our setup is:
1 x SBS 2011 Std
3 x Server 2008 R2
We use roaming profiles and folder redirection to stop people saving files locally due to breakin's.
The Server 2008 R2's have been joined to the domain, DNS and AD installed and configured and I believe that it is working as expected but not sure how to test?
What I'd like to achieve is:
Load balancing of the DNS and AD
Load balancing of the My Docs and Profiles between machines, i.e. have 2 copies of the documents on 2 servers so if one is restarted then the user just continues working. Is this possible?
Exchange/Outlook to work between machines when roaming. I know that the PST file is stored in c:/users/[name]/Local/Outlook/[etc]
It's the local part that causes the problem, because it isn't backed up. Is there an efficient and simple way of doing this without visiting each PC or is it a totally manual process?
FInally when I log onto both Windows 7 Pro x64 and the Server 2008 machines using my admin user account, I end up with the group policy Map Shares trying to map to the local machine rather than the server, even though it works for everyone else... very strange. It then means on the 2008R2 machines I can't download from the net because my desktop, my docs and downloads folders do not exist.
Help greatfully received.
