Installing a Windows 2008 AD in Windows 2003 Domain

Hi All,

We recently got a new Windows 2008 R2 server and am trying to install AD on the same. I did run the steps as mentioned by Liam6206 in http://community.spiceworks.com/how_to/show/1732-migrating-windows-2003-domain-to-windows-2008. But I got stuck when running DCPROMO on my new server. It says my Forest is still 2000.

Our exchange and current AD are both running Windows 2003.

I am wondering what do I need to do to get this working. Do I need to run some upgrade command for Forest on the current AD server (have already run adprep /forestprep using both the Windows 2003 and Windows 2008 tools) and both came back saying it's already been udpdated.

Any help would be great. Been trying to ready too many resources and have probably ran too many commands already :).
