Here's the current setup
I currently have 2 Servers Primary Server is a SBS 2003 Std. server running AD, DNS, VPN, File Storage, and Exchange. Secondary Server is Server 2003 Std. running Sage 50 Accounting software, for the Secondary I'm just gonna backup the accounting data then dcpromo it to remove it as the secondary DC.
We purchased a new server Dell R720 which I'll be migrating the SBS 2003 server to running Windows Hyper-V Server 2012 with 2 VM's One will have SBS 2011 Std. and the second will be running SBS 2011 Premium Add-on (which is basically Server 2008r2 with SQL Server 2008 std.)
My question is does the Premium Add-on server have to be configured as a secondary DC like I had to do with the 2003 machines? I ask because I did a test installation recently on the new server and when installing SQL Server 2008 it recommended that the server not be a DC.
