I was running a Windows Server 2012 R2 machine as my Domain Controller / DNS Server. I will call this server DC1. I needed to move these roles to a different Windows Server 2012 R2 machine (DC2) anddecommissionthe original server.
On DC2, I added the Active Directory Domain Service and DNS Server roles. I then transferred the FSMO Roles over to DC2. On DC2, I went into AD Users & Computers and all my user / computer information was there. I also went into the DNS manager and everything was there as well. I then demoted DC1 and removed it from the domain.
I just went into AD Sites and Services on DC2 and under Default-First-Site-Name / Servers it shows both DC1 and DC2. From my research online this isn't anythign to be concerned about and that the server can be deleted from container as long as there is not anything listed under the...
