So, I set up a new server 2008 r2 (64-bit) to replace my old Spiceworks server.
I successfully imported my database and it's been working happily since May.
However, occasionally, the server seems to loose network routes!
If I check the ARP table, the host I'm looking for appears correctly. However, I can't ping it by IP (I don't exactly trust that!), and the server (in this case, our backup server) can't ping the new spiceworks server.
I'm pretty sure this is a Windows problem and it's only coincidence that it's our spiceworks server... but wondered if anyone has seen the same before.
Last time, my boss had to hack the switches. She said it was a poisoned ARP cache. But that was a few days ago and she purged the tables.
So I'm running out of ideas, as there's absolutely nothing unusual about the setup. It's a Windows server, it has...
