We have internal custom built software which has been running for years without issues. Recently someone mentioned that they've always experienced issues when creating new entries, which can take close to a minute or two. I'm still fairly new to the organization, but never saw a helpdesk ticket regarding the issue. Anyway....I ran wireshark on the network during the new entries, and came across a lot of SMB2 Lock Responses. I moved the data files over a new server over the weekend, since we've been wanting to move to 2008 Server. It worked perfect!!! The responses was instant when creating new entries. However, at the beginning of the week, it's back to the same issue. Perhaps because other users are accessing the DB.
Any ideas?
