Dell R710 server becomes unrespinsive from time to time

I have a DELL R710 server running Win2K8R2, single Xeon proc and 4GB RAM. It's running file services/print services, DHCP, DNS and AD for a network of about 60 PCs.

Since November, every so often the server becomes unresponsive. It also causes my whole network to essentially go down since each of my users have about half a dozen drives mapped to this server, the PCs go haywire. It gets to the point where I have to do a hard reboot because I can't login to reboot, or I reboot but nothing happens. I get no errors on this machine, it never BSOD's so I have no clue what the hell is going on

After this happened 3-4 times, I finally went in and updated everything I could think of:

  • NIC drivers/firmware
  • H700 RAID controller Drivers/firmware.
  • BIOS firmware
  • Any remaining MS updates not already installed

I thought that did it as it ran fine for the last...
