There are many options I have considered for preventing users from storing files on thier desktop and instead having them store thier files on their shared drive space. They should VPN in to access files when they are needed.
I have some corporate policy that might be coming down ( given enough support) which may require me to restrict certain users from storing files locally. I already have folder redirection in place but this wouldn't be enough apparently. Should the users just be reserved to using a vpn and then a terminal server over RDP? Using GPO for this can cause issues I have read and won't prevent everything from being stored on the local machine.
Any suggestions on this? I'll also have Outlook files to deal with as well. One or two users tops for this requirement.
