Wanna see how bad DFS can break stuff?

My domain is composed of the following:

Virtualization Host: Cranked up R320 Poweredge, Server 2012 R2

DC1: Server 2012 x64 (Hyper-V)

DC2: Server 2012 x64 (Hyper-V)

File Server: Server 2012 R2 (Hyper-V)

All internal Windows firewalls on both workstations and servers have been turned off via GPO and verified to be off both through the UI and via "netsh advfirewall show domain".

Today about 2:00 a few users started having problems and submitting tickets. Within the next 60 minutes the following issues were affecting every user and every workstation, even my machine.

Symptoms (Every single one of these symptoms affect every workstation and every user without exception):

- Right clicking anything in the Start menu for a context menu lags severely and/or crashes Windows Explorer

- On my servers, right-clicking the taskbar and opening the TaskManager...
