Hello everybody!
. I have this little problem:
I have a physical Windows 2012 server. There is no DC at the network. I'm logged at the PC with user A. There is no user A on the server. I have a shared folder for the user B.
How can I force to Windows ask for credentials when I go to start -> run \\SERVER\SharedFolder\ ?
For now I only receive this error:
"network error"
"windows cannot access \\SERVER\SharedFolder\"
"You do not have permission to access \\SERVER\SharedFolder\. contact your network administrator to request access."
When I try to acces to \\SERVER\C$, the server prompts for credentials.
I cannot reproduce this error on any of my shared folders at Windows 2008 R2, 7, XP or 2003. The server always ask for credentials.
I can enter to the folder using a net use command, but I need that multiple people access to that folder from different locations. This users are really very unexperienced and the use of CLI is not posible for them.
Thanks in advance!
