I am having a storage issue with essentials 2012. Let me first explain my setup.
Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard is running on a physical machine with 2 hard drives. One that contains the OS (1TB), and a RAID volume (5.5TB). The only role on this machine is Hyper-V. It hosts a few VMs, one being the Essentials machine.
The essentials VM runs Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard, and has the Windows Server Essentials role installed on it. It's VHD sits on the 1TB OS HDD on the physical machine.
The problem is, windows essentials dashboard will only let you move the "shared folders" to a local disk and my VM only has the one VHD. I want to use the physical RAID volume on the physical machine, so this have become an issue for me.
I tried to "trick" the VM by mapping a network drive, but that did not work. So I looked into adding another...
