Scenario: SBS 2003 AD environment (I know, I know) with a Server 2008 terminal server.
Custom accounting-type package is installed on the terminal server.
Network passwords expire every 40 days.
Problem is that if users ignore the "password expires in... days" warning and wait until they're forced to change their passwords, a part of the Current_User registry changes for this app, and the data path changes.
This is the only change that happens.
If the user changes the password ahead of time, the registry does not change.
The software developers tell me that:
the only way to support remote users is through TS, and
they don't support TS, but
they have "thousands" of of other clients with "sophisticated domain setups" and no one else is reporting this problem.
Can anyone think of a "domain or environment issue outside their control" (their words) that would cause this?
