We are getting ready to drop in dedicated circuits to a couple of remote offices. Both offices currently use a nailed up VPN connection with Terminal Services to access everything. We want to eliminate the VPN connection and terminal services session due to the headaches we've had. Both currently have a Print and File server (Server 2008). They use it primarily for storing docs. We want to make these servers DC's. I've not done this before, so I'm researching and looking for advice.
It appears that I need to add a number of "server roles", including AD Domain Services,DNS server and DHCP server. Wasn't sure If I needed to add Federation services, Lighweight Directory services and Rights Management services? Any other advice for this first timer?
