Windows Server 2003 x86 AD, Adding Windows 7 x64, Issues and Best Practices?

I currently have a Windows 2003 x86 Active Directory, with all of its members running Windows XP Pro.  With the Death of Windows XP, rapidly approaching, I've been trying to find out the best practices and issues related to adding Windows 7 Pro x64 Members to my domain.  Most of what I'm finding states that I should not have many issues, but wanted to pose the question with more of my specifics.

Server Environment (3 Physical Servers)

Server 1:  Windows Server 2003 Domain Controller, File Server, DNS, WINS, Intranet Website.

Server 2:  Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise, Member Server, MSSQL, Operation and Diagnostic Server for Mobile Data Terminals

Server 3:  Windows Server 2003, Member Server, Terminal Server in Application Mode

Almost all of my Members are Windows XP, but I"m currently working to get all upgraded to Windows 7 x64 PCs.

Resources are severely limited, so purchasing new server equipment is out.  I believe I do have licenses to upgrade all servers to windows server 2008, but only the r1 release.  (Purchased using Volume Licenses, allowed for installation of most previous versions and chose x86 Windows Server 2003.  In hindsight I wish i would have went with at least 64 bit.)

What can I do to alleviate issues during this transition?
