What do YOU do if your shared drive server (or NAS/SAN) blows up?

We have users who save everything to a shared drive on our DC. (not the system drive)

I know some people use a NAS, and we've been getting DFS-R and namespace set up but it seems buggy.

But what do all of YOU do when your file share / network drive goes down? How can users save their work and/or keep working? There seems to be no "good" answer out there.

We DO have backups to restore, I'm just talking about "in the meantime" so users can continue productivity. Our second DC does DNS/DHCP/AD, so this is just a question on the fileshare.

This is for 2008R2 and 30-100 users on Win7. Open to hearing what bigger companies do though.
