Hi guys,
i recently did a upgrade from 2008 to 2012. not really my choice but got to work with what you have.
now i have found the open file manager under computer management / system tools / shared folders / open files
now my company works in allot of MYOB database files so i should be seeing access to said files but i don't see them in the open files.
i did once when i first opened up open file manager but never since then..
really becoming a pain as what happens is some one dose not close out of the file correctly then myob says they are still in it when they next try to login to it. thus i need to delete the lock file to fix this. but i cant do that without kicking every one else out of the myob database. fastest way is to close there open files. worked at first quite well but now the access to the data base dose not show up any more. and i now have to ask the users to manually exit the files to delete the lck file which as you know is problematic at best.
to give a little more info we are on Windows 2012 server (not R2) fully updated. we have users remoting into the server and using network shares to files in the server.
i have a suspicion that it is trying to treat the files open as local files even thoe they are from network paths. but that dose not explain why at first we could see the files.
i am hoping some one can see something i am missing or know what has happened here.
