Background:
I've got a Windows Server 2008 R2 RDS farm in production for our thin client users with light computing needs. No issues at all. All of our fat client users on desktops and laptops are running Windows 7. Lastly, I have one final department on Windows Server 2003 Terminal Server that I'm about to decommission. Outside of our our IT department, we have ZERO users on Windows 8.x. I've got 2012 and 2012 R2 in deployment, but not in ways that has an end-user logging in to use its GUI.
Question:
Has anyone had good results (mainly with user adoption) deploying RDS on Server 2012 or 2012 R2? Since I'm firing up a new VM, I figured I might as well entertain the idea of leapfrogging 2008 R2, but I am concerned about it being more of a headache than it's worth trying to migrate users to such a foreign platform (to them). Personally, I haven't been the biggest fan of its GUI for server management via RDS, but 2012 R2 adding back the Start button has helped when using a keyboard and mouse for input. Thoughts?
Thanks!
