Hello,
A friend works at a hotel, and has asked me to help them to migrate away from SBS 2003, a single server solution, to Server 2012 with a dual server fail-over cluster.
Most of the details we're working out fairly well, but one of the problems is that we'll be missing some functionality. They don't use nor care to use Exchange server, so that's no problem, and while they are using sharepoint, they're using it in such a simple way that a DNN install should handle all of their Intra/Extranet needs.
What it looks like they're going to be without, though, is RWW, or remote web workplace... A couple of users use that to connect to their own workstations, and it's easy for them to use that website to make the connection.
Personally, it occurs to me that a solution would be to setup pinholes in the firewall appliance and redirect those ports to the users' workstations and then give those users RDP files to use to connect. There's only a few users, so that should be easy enough, though it would generate a bit more support.
Might it not also be possible to install a role on the server for Remote Desktop Gateway, as well?
Any other suggestions for other things to look out for that we might miss once migrated over?
Thanks in advance, much appreciated!!!
