I'm trying to migrate our Certificate Authority from Windows Server 2012 R2 to Window Server 2022. This new server will only have the CA role and nothing else.
After following steps to back up old CA database and registry, removing the CA role from old server and adding it to the new server, I was trying to import the root certificate. However, I receive this error: the imported certificate does not match the chosen ca type and will not be used. however, the imported key can still be used.
After that, I'm just not able to do anything. This will be the new root CA and is Enterprise not Standalone. Any suggestions to resolve this?
