Hi,
I'm migrating a 2003 R2 file server to 2008 R2.
The old server has only one large C: partition.
On the new server, I want to separate the shared files from the OS by creating a D: partition for them.
If I do this, is it likely to cause any problems with the file shares (which include user profiles)?
Currently files are shared through DFS, which I intend to maintain, so I am optimistic that it will Just Work(TM), since those C:\ pathnames should be abstracted from the clients.
Please let me know if there's anything I need to watch out for!
Thanks
Dave
