Hello all!
I could really use some guidance on my VPN situation. I've searched around the forums and found some great information to point me in the right direction and get me started, but now I'm a little stuck.
I am looking into setting up a VPN for our current Domain infrastructure. This office (and network) will support a maximum of 15-20 users and I would like to open up VPN capabilities for a maximum of 10 of those users. We are running a very simple network configuration:
ISP Modem -> Router -> Switch -> Server 2012 (DC, AD, DNS, DHCP) -> Clients
I figured I could just use the built in VPN features in Server 2012 and I found two articles to help guide me:
Remote Access Setup: http:/
Technet:http:/
One thing that crossed my mind before starting this and now it's where I'm stuck; an external IP for VPN clients to connect to. The server needs an address that can be reached publicly as to initiate the VPN connection, correct?
How do I go about doing this? We are currently using a static IP from our ISP on the router. Would I request a second static IP from the ISP and then use the "One-To-One NAT feature on my router to map the external IP to point to the servers internal (192.169.) address? Is this even the best way for me to setup our VPN or does anyone else have a better solution?
