We recently experienced a brief power outage that crashed the VSphere 5.0 ESX Host serving our File Server. The outage seems to have re-set the IP selection to DHCP from the static settings on all the servers on the ESX host, but I was able to fix that. Unfortunately, the file transfer rate went from 3-5mb/second to 20kb/second for downloads to the File Server. Upload speeds from the File Server average 200kb/second. Transfer rates between all other Servers and Workstations still function at expected rates.
I have tried disabling IP4 Checksum Offload, Large Send Offload and TCP Checksum Offload (IP4). I have also rebooted the network card, rebooted the File Server, and the ESX host. The Anti-Virus (Trend Micro Worry-Free) is not the cause, I uninstalled it and rebooted the File Server without effect.
The other servers on the ESX host are functioning fine after the change back to static IP addresses and transfer at 3-5mb/second. However file transfers from the other servers on the ESX host to the File Server also suffer at 20kb/second speeds.
I checked the network cables to the switches and then are all running at max speed according to the File Server and the Switches.
Any suggestions with instructions are welcome.
Thanks
