I am trying to set up DHCP on the windows server 2012 standard platform. This is my first time to dive into AD and DHCP with a firewall. My ISP gave me a static 68.x.x.x address, 255.255.255.224 subnet, 68.x.x.x gateway and two 68.x.x.x dns. I setup my firewall with a 192.168.168.168 Lan IP, 255.255.255.0 subnet. I have been told I should disable my DHCP server on the router and setup DHCP on the physical server. I believe I need to set up a static config. on server NIC so I have the server distributing dynamic IP's to the clients. I am a little confused on what static config. needs to be put on Server NIC. How do I combine (if at all) the ISP config., the firewall and the server so everything plays nice and clients can see the server first and then proceed to the Internet. Basically, what IP, subnet, gateway, and DNS should be on the server. Any and all help/idea's are appreciated!
