Hi guys,
here is my scenario, please can you throw some light on it.
We run a Server 2008r2 / 2008 setup.with windows 7 clients.
We run a login script to map drives. moving to GP but this 'issue' came about.
The long and the short of it is, when I map a drive to the actual server name, it seems to map fine. when I map to the DFS share name, it fails when you first turn on the computer.
I tested it by 2 drive mappings to the same location, one DFS one to the server, and the DFS times out saying network path not found error 53
if you log off and log on, the drives map correctly.
The twist is, if you put a 30 second pause in the start of the batch file, it maps correctly. to both the DFS and server names. It's some kind of DFS name resolution problem..
we are thinking we just drop DFS all together, we used it for migrating a fileserver and likes...
