I know a lot of people dislike roaming profiles; I like and dislike them. I like them when people use them correctly.
Now my issue; in Windows 2003 days I used to use FRS to replicate the folder to a DR site, so if things went bad, I could redirect from AD. That tested and worked correctly. Now in 2008 R2, FRS is depreciated and I'm trying to set it up via DFSR with read only on the destination. Setup seems to go correctly, I get some initial folders copied but then it stops. I can leave it for a day; a week what ever and it will not replicate any more folder.
No errors in the event log. And the limited number of folders it does initial replicate are kept up to date. The other DFSR for data and home folders work 100%.
Using only Windows built in tools, what other methods are people using to replicate their users romaing profiles? Or should I just forget about it and rely on the server backups?
I've searched and tried a few things online, such as preseeding, but due to the size and number of folders, by the time it had finished this, changes were already made by users logging in and out that the DFS removed them anyway.
What am I doing wrong?
