At my workplace we're running a central Windows Server 2012 file server for sharing files of work orders. The files and folders structure follow rigid rules described below.
\\TopShare\P14\P1407\P14070001\*.*
In the path above P14070001 is the work order no., with 1407 being July, 2014. All files related to a work order is stored inside a folder with the same no. as the order. Each month and each year new branch folders are created by a central staff, while work order folders are created daily by the same staff. The central staff users are not really IT literate and therefore cannot manage folder permissions on their own.
Now we have 2 problems:
1.Up to now we have set permissions for the top share and used inheritance to propagate them down below. However that makes upper folders have the same permissions as work order folders,...
