Preparing to migrate

My current network is based on Windows server 2003.

Server A: AD and all the roles, DHCP, DNS, Wins,

Server B: AD with GC role, Exchange2003 (stopped), CA.

Echange is now on the cloud

I need to prepare to migrate the domain to 2012. I would like to remove Exchange2003 from the domain . I have found a good how to that tells it all. I would like to get rid of CA because I think I do not need it anymore, but with my current install (mostly CA), my AD`s are co-dependant (both need to be up n running to allow logons to either.

My questions are:

How can I found out if the CA is still used? Can I remove it without causing logon problems?

Should I be uninstalling CA first or Exchange 2003?

Am I going to encounter other certificates issues?
