I'm an EE with no formal IT training, but I'm the default ITguy for our small company… I need help! Our LAN is a Windows Server 2003 domainwith about 40 client PC's. We plan to upgrade our domain server and Exchangeserver this summer but we need to replace our Windows 2003 Storage Server ASAP.It currently holds about 260 GB. of files.
We're considering buying a Seagate Storage Server with 8TBof drives. It comes with Windows Storage Server 2012 *workgroup* edition (notstandard edition).
We plan to use it only as a file server, with all domainservices provided by a Windows 2003 SBS Server on a different hardware platform(until our complete upgrade is done). Our ERP system with SQL server and allits data is on a separate hardware server, so our storage server won’t have SQLfiles or code on it.
