OK.
Set up DFS many moons ago (Windows 2003) - always been fine.
A few weeks back I got asked if there was a way to keep a copy of our shared folders somewhere else, just in case, so I thought I'd close the process off and set up DFS-R (which I haven't done for eons, so there is a chance it could be me that's screwed up)
The original server is 2003 R2, the new one for the replica is 2008 R2.
It all seems to be running ok, but I have a nagging issue.
There is a difference in terms of the number of files on each server. There's allegedly 1569 more files on the original server than on the replica. I'm using the standard default filter of *.tmp; *.bak and ~* on the replication, but the total number of those files on the original server is less than that.
DFS diags report everything OK (with the exception of 60 locked files it can't replicate).
