I have been working with DFS to set up a new root and some shares for my lan.
I'm having an issue getting the shared folders permissions figured out.
Basically, I have 5 groups. Group A through D I want to have read only permission. Group E I want to have full control.
What is everyones setup for creating and making DFS shares? Do I put the permissions on the folder at the folder creation level? Or do I set that at the access level in the DFS wizard? Is it better to go on the two servers and create the folders, set permissions on them, and then set up the shared folder, and do the DFS last and just tell DFS that the permissions are already set up?
It's not working out as smooth as I'd hoped.
Also, if a user puts a file in there, then another user in the group is unable to delete it. Is there a setting I need to set so that the files are...
