I've got a SBS 2011 Standard which at some point over the last several months stopped informing about OS updates. It still gets Exchange Anti-Spam filters every now and then, but doesn't receive anything else, including any of the Patch Tuesday stuff. (Clients are still being updated normally, FWIW.)
This server is also showingEvent 13402 three or fourtimes a day.
I found this regarding the 13042 error, and since it's titled "WSUS 3.0 Self-update not working..."it seems like a good candidate tobe a fix for the lack of server updates.
HOWEVER, two things have me confused, and since I'm not too familiar with IIS I want to tread carefully lest Ifix one thing and break another.
1. The articlesays make sure the "Selfupdate" virtual directory has anonymous authentication enabled and Require SSL is unchecked. But there aretwo Selfupdate...
