Management has heartburn over the hardware/software cost to set up an RDS server for their 25 or so users who are spread out along the east coast.
I haven't really dabbled in hosted servers at all, but my gut says it'd be more expensive any way you slice it. Anyone have experience setting up a fully-hosted RDS environment like this? We'd need AD, file sharing, and RDS to all be hosted together (in separate VMs, ideally).
The only thing I've looked at is Amazon WorkSpaces, but they don't provide any sort of hosted AD solution. We'd need to provide on-prem AD for authentication.
