I am looking for a bit of advice here. I am working on setting up a Windows 20112R2 RDS (Terminal) Server for the first time. We already have a Windows 2008R2 Terminal Server that our consultant just setup for us a couple of months ago. I am using this current server as a guide and I see that he had installed the Print Server Role and installed all of the printers on the TS server locally and then used permissions to set who could see what printers.
Can anyone explain which way is best practice and what the benefits would be of installing the printers locally to the TS server vs installing them as network printers? I would love to hear Bill Kindle and Scott Alan Miller's thoughts on this.
