I have a new Server 2012 (physical box, 64 bit). The server does not belong to a domain, which I'm in the middle of building one, but squeezing money out of the owners is another challenge. I am trying to set up either Remote Access or a VPN for my out of state users.
I have gone through all the step to set up the Routing &/or a VPN. My services are running & my system tells me everything is "enabled" & running. However, when I attempt to connect from the outside, it errors out telling me to make sure Routing & Remote is running. I also tried the Direct Access, however, I stopped by the set up telling me the server does not belong to a domain. My predecessor never build a DC, AD, DNS or DHCP server, all internal computers are in a bloated Workgroup My ports are open to allow the connections. I get many various errors.
