I have a Windows 2008 server that is having issues with active directory. I recently installed a new server and demoted the old one ant turned it off. Somehow somebody turned the old server on, and it messed up the new server. Currently when I try to open Active directory users and computers, or Active directory Sites and Services I get the following error: Naming information cannot be located because: The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted. I also get an error message about the global catalog not being available. If I restart the server everything works ok for a few minutes, then it begins messing up again. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
