This may seem like a silly question, but I’m the only IT person in this company and it’s my first job in IT, so I’m not sure what kind of impact this could have.
Last year when I was hired my boss wanted me to upgrade the whole network. Everything from the switches to firewalls and the servers as they were over 10 years old. Networking part was not a problem as that’s what I specialize in.
Now when I upgraded the servers from WS 2008 to 2016 and switched from VMware to HyperV I created a single VM to be our file server. I never installed the Data Deduplication role and now I’m thinking I probably should. Is this going to cause any problems installing it so late? We don’t have much data on the file server, only 620GB. Should I even bother? I still have over 2.7TB of free space.
What do the server pro’s in Spiceworks world think?
I know...
