Trying to get a printer working with an application. The printer is shared out from a server. There is a field in the application to enter a path to the printer. The tech support for this software said if the UNC path didn't work, I should enter the mapped path.
Maybe this is something I've never encountered before, but can a shared printer be referenced with a path like "C:\PRINTER"? Printers are just objects, correct? They don't actually live on any drive or in any folder, right?
I asked for clarification and got this response: "For example on the network \\PALMBANK\ACCOUNTING2 may really be D:\Departments\PalmBank\Accounting2"
Anyone know what the heck this is supposed to mean? Are they just wrong, or is this something I've just never seen before? Thanks.
