Server 2008R2 console is stuck on Please wait for the User Profile Service.
This server runs AD, DHCP, DNS, and Hyper-V.
The three virtual machines are all running fine (one of the virtuals is a second domain controller with AD, DHCP and DNS. There is also a 3rd DC on another box.)
DHCP on the "stuck" server is still responding to requests (if I log a PC into the network it shows that it's DHCP server is the IP address of the stuck server.)
The wheel has been spinning for 11 hours now; I'm inclined to let it run over night as there is not much to be gained or lost by letting it run.
The last change was installing the VIPRE Business Premium agent v. 6.2. and then rebooting.
And yes, if I get logged in I could uninstall that agent, but that agent is running fine on other servers in the network.
Besides the 3 DCs there is another box with 2008R2 and 2 virtuals with an SQL application and database. Plus 9 thin clients and 11 Windows PCs.
Any ideas beside holding the power button or waiting? Will it eventually log in?
Thanks!
