On my domain I was running 2 DNS servers, the primary was Sever2008 R2and the secondary Sever2003. The primary crash and had to be rebuilt, but it can not configured as DNS. A error pops up stating that the main DNS server is offline. I can not promote the secondary for the same reason. Running dcpromo /forceremoval does not work on the rebuilt server because "the primary server is offline." Any Ideas?
