My mail server quit responding to anyone on the mail side, in and out.
I could RDP and ping it. I could NOT browse the web on the computer.
The IP was 192.168.3.4. I changed the IP to 192.168.3.52 and now EVERYTHING works. Back to .4 and it quits working
I had this same issue at another job where a printer had the same issue. The IP would stop working after some time.
I want to be very clear with everyone, I am stumped and I am not a newbie.
I am just genuinely stumped. DHCP server not handing out this range, pull IP off network and ping or port scan to it and nothing. No layer 2 or 3 response.
Any ideas? I would say clear switch caches, but I can ping to anything on the internet and resolve DNS, but no internet and no mail features.
Exchange 2010 all updates and service packs. No windows updates recently and no changes. Happened out of nowhere.
I assigned that IP to a VM and it had no issues at all, surf the web and all.
Put it back on the other machine and it cannot.
No firewalls, not an antivirus issue.
HELP!!
