Hello All,
Having an issue this morning on our VPN server.. Temporarily I have assigned a static pool just so business can flow as usual.
System Spec:
Dell R300
OS : Windows 2008 R2
Server Static IP: 10.0.0.13
DHCP Server IP : 10.0.0.10
This is what's going on.
1. Installed Dell OMSA last night
2. Rebooted computer, and network card went offline (unable to establish a connection)
3. Updated network card drivers
4. Internet is active and VPN is active once again
5. RRAS is assigning a private 169.x.x.x to all clients connecting to the VPN server
6. I verified the settings have not changed and DHCP Relay is set to the correct server 10.0.0.10
7. I have verified I can ping the DHCP server with no issues
8. I changed the settings from DHCP to a static pool of 10.0.0.60-90
9. Verified this settings is working with no issues, but still want to use DHCP and not a static pool
10. I checked EVENT ID and found a few warnings :
-EVENT ID 20169 - "Unable to contact a DHCP server. The Automatic Private IP Address 169.254.95.10 will be assigned to dial-in clients. Clients may be unable to access resources on the network."
11. I have double checked the settings and everything is correct...
-The correct Adapter (Local Area Connection) is selected to obtain the DHCP
-Correct DHCP server is added
12. I changed settings back to Static Pool and confirmed this works properly, but when I set it back to DHCP it goes back to 169.x.x.x
Any suggestions?
