We are contemplating a new website and thus a new webserver for a client and want to get a perspective on the real benefits of one over the other. I think that Windows platform cost more in the long run and the hosting and license requirements are greater, so I am leaning toward Linux and PHP. I would like to hear of any benefits that Windows and MS SQL would have over PHP and MySQL
