Windows 2008 R2 keeps locking me out.

When I access a share on a workgroup server running Win 2008 R2 from a domain joined computer, I get locked out if the local username is the same as the domain username.

Example: If I access \\Win2008R2Svr\Share as domain\johndoe, and there is a local johndoe account on that server (using a different password), then the access fails and the local johndoe account is locked out.

If I access \\Win2008R2Svr (with no share path added), then I get a login prompt asking me for a user name and password. Once I enter the credentials, I can then access any share without problem.

When I access a share on the Win2003 server, I get prompted for my credentials and not get logged out.

Its as if in Windows 2008R2, if the local username matches the domain username, it assumes they are the same.

Is there a setting in the Local Policy that changes this behavior?
