New server Dell PowerEdge R720 and I am installing Server 2012 R2 first time. (NO Virtualization so dont suggest one, i know the benefit just not feasible now, just help me answer the questions please)
Got Raid 10 setup using with 8 x 600GB physical drive as 1 virtual drive 0
The hard drive setup using UEFI & GPT instead BIOS & MBR
When i want to install the windows it show 3 partition already created automatically:
Drive 0 Partition 1: ESP 500MB Total size 450MB free space Type: System
Drive 0 Partition 2: DIAGS 40MB Total size 35MB free space Type:OEM (Reserved)
Drive 0 Partition 3: OS 2GB Total size 2GB free space Type: Primary
4th partition show up automatically later after i created a new partition, the one i create become partition 5
Drive 0 Partition 4 128MB Total size 128MB free space Type: MSR (reserved)
Drive 0 Partition 5 200GB Total size 200GB free space Type: Primary
1st QUESTION: Drive 0 partition 3: OS what is that for? is that "OS" mean that they want me to put the Windows 2012 there? but the size to small, can i delete and create Partition 3 with bigger space and put my windows there?
2nd QUESTION: After i cerate 4 more new partition (partition 6, 7, 8, 9) , then i want to install the Windows in partition 5, a window pop up saying:
"The partition on the disk selected for installation are not in the recommended order For additional information about installing to GPT disks go to the Microsoft website (www.microsoft.com) and search for GPT. Do you want to proceed with installation?"
So should i go ahead just install or will there be issues in the future?
