I was wondering if anyone had experience with a small and cheap server for use at a small office to be used as the domain controller (dns, dhcp, etc) as well as printers. I would like a cheap but professional solution that has at least some redundancies. I'd like to be able to have 4 small 2.5" drives in it running raid and server 2012 R2 installed for the domain controller. This is a smaller office (15ish people) and everything else has been moved out to the VMware Hybrid cloud. I want to take out the massive (power) 8 year old Dell Power-edge server that no longer needed (for retire). Was hopping for something in the $1000 range (then lic above that). I'd like to still be able to install esxi on it to manage. I'd love it to be small and power efficient. I've been through my usual Dell options with no luck. This office is a 5 hour drive so I would like the thing to run without issue for 8 years =)
