Server 2012 Loses default Gateway on Reboot after Updates

A couple of weeks ago our schools server automatically downloaded and installed updates. Long story short after rebooting (automatically) the server had no internet connections and after a few hours of troubleshooting I realized that the default gateway was missing. Filling the default gateway alone doesn't fix the issue as it will not hold until you disable the adapter and re-enable it. Further testing results in knowing that after every reboot the default gateway is lost but disabling and re-enabling the adapter fixes everything. I have been wracking my brain on this one and I feel like I've tried everything.

List of fixes I've already tried.

removed all updates that were installed and a month prior

checking default gateway list in registry

netsh int ip reset

Most current network drivers (december 2013)

disable all other adapters (even disabled them in the bios)

relocate connection to another adapter ( this issue happens to all adapters installed)

Delete duplicate route to 0.0.0.0 ( we don't use network teaming but i'm running out of answers)

Any suggestions about how to fix the issue with our server losing its default gateway on reboot will be met with severe appreciation!
